Description:
The staged removal/replacement of the two “Air Handler Units (AHU’s)” and related equipment (e.g. Heat Recover Unit, extraneous glycol tanks/systems, electrical panels, support systems and ductwork … ) in the main hospital penthouse – and the installation of two AHU’s and their related equipment per the “50% Construction Document (CD) Plans” provided. The selected HVAC General Contractor (HVAC-HVAC-GC) will collaborate with PAE (see https://www.pae-engineers.com ) to create 100% Construction Document (CD) Plans to be used to complete the work as part of an integrated design process. AHU installation staging will allow the AHU supporting the Acute Care Unit to remain operational while the AHU supporting the OR/Surgical Services area is replaced. An intertie between the new OR/Surgical Services AHU to the Acute Care system ductwork will enable the Acute Care Area to remain operational as its Air Handler is replaced – and otherwise provide redundancy and resiliency to the hospital’s ability to remain operational if one of the two AHU’s fails. Certain areas currently served by the Acute Care Unit and OR/Surgical Services AHU’s may be moved from one Air Handler to the other based on the plans provided – requiring some modifications of the ductwork.
